Eight non-government organizations from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Saint Petersburg have become the winners. The total sum of support is more than 73 million rubles.
Leading infrastructural non-government organizations who implement large-scale charitable programs of their own aiming at developing local community, solving regional social problems with involvement of local NGOs and community and supporting various vulnerable groups of people were invited to participate in the competition.
16 applications from 10 regions which received the Foundation’s invitation to participate in the competition were examined by the Expert Council of the nomination “Being systematic” from 6th September till 5th October. The largest number of applications has been received from Moscow (4), Nizhny Novgorod (3) and Saint-Petersburg organizations (2). Organizations from Belgorod, Vladivostok, Ekaterinburg, Perm, Tomsk, Samara and Ufa have submitted one application each.
The General Director of the Foundation Oksana Oracheva: “The winners of this nomination are the organizations with the established reputation and developed tools of support. Within their ongoing programs, some winners implement new services for beneficiaries and disseminate successful practices, others help NGOs from different regions achieve the systematic effect. In a short time, we hope to see among new projects an online service to assess social interaction, a consultation center on legal issues and philanthropy and information and education resources that are in demand in the sector. I am certain that these initiatives will help NGOs to adapt to new working environment and continue sustainable development despite existing limitations.”
Supporting leaders in the period of Corona crisis has become crucial: professionals who are result-oriented and ready to take responsibility in the period of instability play the core role in overcoming the challenges. The competition “Philanthropy School” complements a set of measures taken by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation to support the Russian non-commercial sector, philanthropy and volunteer work and helps to introduce initiatives to support vulnerable social groups. The duration of the program is up to 1 year and the sum of the grant is up to 10 million rubles. In total, 19 organizations from 7 Russian regions received the support over three competition’s cycles. The total sum of grants is 178 million rubles.
