The Vladimir Potanin Foundation and SKOLKOVO School of Management under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation announce V Forum “Endowment 2021. More than Money”. The event will be held online on 19-23 April and connect leading representatives of the non-commercial sector, government and business who will discuss models of endowments.

Tatyana Ilyshnikova, the Deputy Minister, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation maintains: “The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation pays significant attention to support measures of non-commercial organizations and endowments. In 2020, the Federal Law "On the procedure of formation and utilization of endowment of nonprofit organizations" was amended. The amendments suggested by the Ministry empower NGOs and extend their rights and opportunities to work with endowments. We hope that these changes will stimulate developments in the social sphere.  One of the essential requirements for growth and development of such initiatives is knowledge and experience sharing between the participants of the process. The Forum “Endowment” has served as the key platform for discussions and connecting the professional community for 5 years. I would like to thank you organizers and participants for the new vision and honest expression of their position during the Forum.  We express our sincere support and we will continue support old and new participants of the process”.

Oksana Oracheva, the Director General of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, says “We hold the Endowment Forum for the 5th time and we observe that this theme has become more and more relevant every year. More than 40 endowments appeared in the period from 2019 to 2021. The problem of financial sustainability became crucial last year and the majority realized that an endowment is an effective tool to ensure stability of operations in difficult times. We will discuss specific features and pitfalls of endowments’ development and talk with experts who have solid experience in the area. This year innovation is the festival of endowments where non-commercial organizations present successful cases of endowments’ formation and development. I am sure that the Forum will become a platform for knowledge sharing which help us to move forward”.

Andrei Sharanov, the President of SKOLKOVO School of Management states “Sustainable development is the key priority of SKOLKOVO School of Management and non-commercial organizations are important part of our audience. This is the reason why we, in the partnership with the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, are glad to invite you to the Endowment Forum for the fifth time. An unusual format of the event, festival and digital at the same time, enables all the participants to get acquainted with the maximum number of active Russian endowments and their stakeholders. Their stories allow the participants to evaluate how endowments influence sustainability and development of non-commercial and social projects”.

The series “In the First Person” are planned in the Forum’s program. An evening talk with Oksana Oracheva, the General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, and Ruben Vardanyan, a social investor and co-founder of the Noôdome project will take place in the first day of the forum. Sergey Morozov, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region; Tatyana Ilyshnikova, the Deputy Minister, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation;  Alexander Svetakov, the Chairman of the “Absolute-Help” Foundation; Nikita Kukushkin, an actor and the initiator of the project “Help” will also take part in the interview.

The first EndowFest, the festival of the endowment future, will be held within the Forum. The main idea of the festival is to demonstrate plans of the non-commercial sector development through personal stories. Staff members of the Russian Institute of Theater Arts; Charitable Foundation “Big Break”; MGIMO endowment; endowment “Beginnings”; Ural Federal University endowment; museum “Garage” endowment and others will share their stories.

There will be also discussions in the format “Pecha Kucha”. Representatives of organizations who are solving problems associated with endowment development have been invited to this event.
