The Vladimir Potanin Foundation took the stock of the final cycle the “Synergetic Effect” nomination of the “Philanthropy School” competition by invitation. This competition is aimed at social initiatives and NGO projects on enhancing living standards of the disadvantaged groups of people.
13 new and 5 organizations in a waiting list from 9 regions, who received an invitation from the Foundation earlier, strove for victory in the nomination “Synergetic Effect”. Organizations from Moscow, Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Perm and Saint Petersburg became the winners. In total, the Foundation supported 28 organizations from 11 regions within 4 cycles of the competition by invitation.
Each winner receives a grant up to 10 million rubles to develop a program which should last not less than a year. The total sum of support in this cycle exceeds 73,8 million rubles and accounts for 252,2 million rubles for four cycles. The total sum of grants allocated to the winners of the “Philanthropy School” competition by the Foundation equals to 290 101 446 rubles.
Oksana Oracheva, the General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation: “The completion of the competition is not the final result but a beginning of the next stage which will include the development of 9 philanthropic programs highlighted by the “Philanthropy School” experts. We will see the effect of our support after some time: our winners will have to disseminate their experience to regions and partner organizations and develop their own project management models and this is especially relevant in the pandemic situation. We are grateful to all participants of the competition and wish them success in this hard but important task: helping others regardless complexity of the situation”.
The fourth cycle of the competition, as well as other cycles, demonstrated the variety of the proposed projects in terms of projects’ goals and the audience coverage. 2 organizations supported in the fourth cycle of the competition have only started their activity in the sector and 7 organizations are well established. The Saint Petersburg Charity Organization “Prospects” which works with mentally disabled people, three organizations: the Charity Foundation helping adults “Alive”, the Charity Foundation “House with a Beacon” and the Charity Foundation helping women with oncological diseases “Further” which support people with oncological diseases and provide them with palliative care are among the winners. Three winners: “Institute for Social Services and Innovations “Vector”, Nizhny Novgorod Women Crisis Center “Implementing Unified Approaches to Prevent Domestic Violence in the Volga Federal District”, Interregional Charity Organization Russian Committee “Children’s Villages – SOS” deal with the prevention of crisis situations and social deprivation in families.
“Philanthropy School” is one of the three grant anti-crisis initiatives launched by the Foundation. At present, applications for the competition “Common Cause” are being accepted.
