The Foundation’s General Director Oksana Oracheva: “We are taking stock of the competition’s “Common cause” results on the 1st of October, the Day of Foundations and Donors, when our colleagues from Russian and European Foundations run special campaigns to celebrate the philanthropy contribution to the social well-being. The volatile situation we faced this year have proved once again that the non-commercial sector is able to do a lot to overcome negative effects. During six months, we observed many times how NGO not only overcame difficulties caused by the crisis but made significant breakthroughs. Launching “Common Cause” and a line of anti-crisis support measures (the total sum of grants is 728,5 mln. roubles as of the 1st October), we were thinking about the NGO future and the sustainability of the sector and the outcome. Getting acquainted with our winners and their activities, we became assured that our choice is the right choice and the cause is really common.”
The aim of the competition “Common Cause” is to support the non-commercial and cultural sectors to overcome the current crisis and adopt new ways of working. The competition is held in two nominations “Museums. Culture. New Form” and “NGO. Going Agile”. The results are announced monthly from March to September 2020. Each grant could be up to 1 mln. roubles”.
