The Vladimir Potanin Foundation and Deloitte in CIS will conduct the first research in Russia on evaluating NGOs’ maturity. Non-commercial organizations are invited to participate. To take part in the research, it is required to fill in the questionnaire on NGOs’ organizational maturity from 9th April to 11th May 2021.
The research is conducted in accordance with the model of organizational maturity for non-commercial organizations developed by the Foundation and Deloitte experts. The model represents a self-evaluation tool for non-commercial organizations. The evaluation is conducted in the following areas:
· connection with the mission and values
· planning and operational activity
· communication with stakeholders
· organizational structure and human capital management
· risk management and compliance with the legal requirements.
“The model is a part of our work on the sector professionalization, conceptualization of the term “NGO maturity”, development of evaluation criteria and conducting research on the non-commercial sector maturity”, said Oksana Oracheva, the General Director of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation.
In the framework of the research, the Foundation and “Deloitte” experts set the following tasks:
· broaden perception of the non-commercial sector participants on areas of organizational maturity
· evaluate maturity level of the sector participants in each area of organizational maturity and compare it to an average level on separate categories for non-commercial organizations
· help the sector to identify further ways of development.
The Foundation plans to adopt the approaches that will be developed within this research in its activities. “We’ll begin at home”, points out Oksana Oracheva, “but we hope that this tool will become available for the community in the nearest future and this will allow the sector to act more effectively and achieve sustainable changes”.
The research will become an important step in systematic institutional support of the “third sector” and will enable us to develop and improve NGO management instruments. It is planned to publish the results in the end of May 2021.
