Last week a Russian translation and adaptation of Cards for Culture – Museum Edition was launched at the Intermuseum festival in Moscow. Erik and Jasper visited the city to run a teaser workshop with over 80 local and regional museum and heritage professionals.

The first grant competition of the Olympic Scholarship Program for visiting professors is completed. The competition was held to attract the best world-class experts to RIOU, introduce innovative courses into the ROIU curricula and promote dissemination of best practices of the world sports industry.

As part of preparations for the European Day of Foundations and Donors, a photo exhibition curated by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and devoted to achievements of the Foundation’s grantees will open at the National Libdary of Luxembourg 28 September 2015. The photo stories show how an individual can impact the life of a whole community and change it for the better.

At a joint discussion held in partnership with Russian Academic Excellence Project 5-100 the Vladimir Potanin Foundation introduced its ranking of Russian universities participating in the Vladimir Potanin Fellowship Program. The event took place at the Russian Information Agency TASS in Moscow 7 September 2015.

The Vladimir Potanin Foundation and the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) have today announced the twenty students awarded grants to study on RIOU’s flagship Master of Sports Administration Program at RIOU (MSA) programme for the academic year 2015/2016.

The Foundation announces the results of two grant competitions under the auspices of the museum professional exchange program Museum Bridges.

He talked about this with the TASS correspondent Andrey Vandenko during the interview 6 July 2015: ‘The volume of my charity support is increasing. From this year on, the budget for my charitable activities, including my Foundation equals 1 billion rubles and it will increase in the years to come.’

One year anniversary of the Russian Lounge. In 2011 Vladimir Potanin made a donation to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to celebrate the Center’s forty year anniversary. As a result of the collaboration between the Foundation and the Center with the support of the Embassy of the Russia to the US a reconstruction of the largest Lounge of the Center took place.

Russian nominee for the European Museum of the Year Award. In 2013 the Perm Museum won the Potanin Foundation grant within the Program A Changing Museum in a Changing World for its project Discover the Permian Period.

The European Foundation Centre, located in Brussels, hosted Culture As an Ambassador to Connect People roundtable organized by the Foundation in partnership with Robert Bosch Foundation.

The opening of the ‘Fostering Leadership’​ exhibition curated by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation provided a catalyst for dialogue on the way in which Foundations can effectively fund ‘culture’. In advance of the exhibition opening, the foundation co-organised a roundtable with Bosch Stiftung​ which brought together foundation professionals and creatives from across Europe to discuss the best way to nurture innovation and break down the perception of ‘culture’ as something that remains elitist and untouched by the majority. How does a foundation help build a new generation of self-reflective leaders who think critically, challenge themselves, and devote their energy to helping others?

To coincide with the start of the 2015 Oxford Impact Investing Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, Oksana Oracheva, General Director of The Vladimir Potanin Foundation took part in a discussion on the ways the Foundation is investing in leaders, individuals and institutions to build bridges through cultural investment.

The Vladimir Potanin Foundation and the Robert Bosch Stiftung are organizing a roundtable 'Culture as an Ambassador to Connect People' 29 April in Brussels, hosted by the European Foundation Centre. As part the joint program with the EFC, the photo exhibition Fostering Leadership curated by the Foundation will take place in May.

2 March 2015 the Vladimir Potanin Foundation announced the winners of the contest that will participate in the U.S. – Russia Bi-lateral Training Program for museum professionals. For the first time the international program has united work of three foundations: the Trust for Mutual Understanding, the U.S.-Russia Foundation (USRF), and the Vladimir Potanin Foundation.

This report reflects on the changes that have taken place in the country and in the foundation sector in particular during 2013. A special survey was commissioned by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation to assess and evaluate the results and the impact of the Vladimir Potanin Fellowship Program, which is the longest and biggest project of the Foundation.

On February 20, 2014 300 winners of the Vladimir Potanin Fellowship Program were selected based on the 2 rounds of the contest out of over 3000 student applications.

Over the 10 years of its operation the Changing Museum in a Changing World Program grew into a major event in Russian cultural sphere. Out of 4177 applications submitted it has selected and supported about 190 innovative projects which were or are being successfully implemented.

Since 2006 the Vladimir Potanin Foundation together with the British Council have organized annual educational trips for the winners of the Changing Museum in a Changing World Contest.
