The Foundation is ready to announce the winners of the competition for joining a new module of the advance training course, the Endowment Growth Strategy, organized in partnership with the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. Five endowment fund projects which were created during the previous education module and became the winners will receive 5 million rubles in reward donations from the Vladimir Potanin Foundation.
Oksana Oracheva, General Director of the Foundation: “We appreciate the importance of professional expertise for those who have decided to create an endowment fund or is starting to take the first steps in that direction, and we congratulate the winners of the competition on joining the training program at SKOLKOVO. The participants will not only have to acquire new skills and knowledge, but also put them to practice when they establish endowments in their respective organizations. This year we have decided to support the best completed projects from the previous education module to help boost their individual development. I hope that the example set by the graduates of our program whose projects have been selected as winners will serve as a motivation for the new competition participants and make a contribution to developing charity activities”.
This year, the total number of applications was 55, with 39 of them shortlisted for the second stage of the competition.

WINNERS (in Russian)
During the previous module of the program, 23 employees from Russian universities, museums and other non-profit organizations completed the training at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO provided by the grants from the Foundation. During their training, the participants were asked to create and implement projects that involved establishing, replenishing or promoting an endowment in their respective organizations. Five endowments from companies that came up with the best projects will receive reward donations from the Foundation:
"Dobry Gorod Petersburg" Charity Foundation
For over seven years, the foundation has been working to improve the quality of life for elderly people. Their program aims to create an environment that helps older people assimilate into local communities, fights dependency and inactivity, and promotes the idea of active ageing. For their course project, the foundation launched a campaign for establishing an inter-regional endowment fund, "Social Innovations", aimed at the program's development. The campaign involved developing the team's expertise, attracting funds to the endowment and holding a press conference in March 2019 with an official transfer of the first donation to the endowment.

P. G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University
The project for establishing and developing a YSU endowment fund included preparing regulatory documents, creating a strategy for working with graduates and donors, and holding a series of fundraising events organized as an endowment marathon which finished on 18 June 2018, the day of the 215th anniversary of the university. As part of the project, the university developed a partner program and a loyalty scheme which specified the services and privileges available for the donors depending on the amount of donation. The proceeds from the endowment will be allocated to supporting the students' business initiatives and expanding the university's talent pool.

Chelyabinsk State University
The project involved creating an endowment fund with all proceeds going to the establishment of a resource center for working with gifted children. The target audience of the campaign included medium and large local businesses, government bodies, graduates and students of the university, and families of talented high school graduates. Between May 2018 and February 2019, the project team managed to raise over 3 million rubles and transferred the funds to the management company.

The Krasnoyarsk Art Museum named after V. I. Surikov
The project focused on creating an endowment fund for the museum, and raising 3 million rubles between May 2018 and March 2019. The campaign involved working with city residents and large commercial organizations, and establishing a system for museum's interaction with local communities.

Tomsk Regional Museum Of Local History named after Shatilov M.B.
For several years, the museum has been carrying out the "Siberians, Free and Captive" project (established with a grant from the Vladimir Potanin Foundation's "A Changing Museum in a Changing World" program) which aims to reconsider the past and help people appreciate the connection between their lives and historical events. The proceeds from the endowment are set to be invested in the development of this project. The endowment campaign included analysing the pool of potential donors and developing a program for attracting them.

Total donations amounted to 25 million rubles.

The Endowment Growth Strategy advance training course is focused on developing a strong shared vision and standards among the participants of the program in terms of creating and managing endowment funds based on the best practices in Russia and worldwide. The best program graduates always receive reward donations to their respective endowments. In 2014, after the graduation of the pilot group from the course prepared by the Foundation in partnership with the Russian School of Economics and the Donors Forum, Vladimir Potanin donated funds to 5 Russian non-profit organizations as a reward. In 2017, 9 endowment funds of universities and cultural institutions received reward donations. The representatives of these organizations demonstrated the best application of skills and knowledge they had acquired at the course developed by the Foundation in collaboration with the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.
