20 winners of the competition will receive scholarships to start their studies in September at the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU). The “Olympic Scholarships” competition under Vladimir Potanin Fellowship Program is a joint initiative of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and RIOU.

In 2019 72 applications from 37 countries were admitted to the competition – this number has increased by 20% since last year. The geographic outreach of the competition in the new application cycle has also expanded – 20 winners hail from 17 countries and 7 of them are represented in the programme for the first time, including Austria, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, Algeria, Czech Republic and South Africa.
